The Bronx-Westchester Area Health Education Center (BWAHEC) is a consortium of educational institutions, community health centers, hospitals, government agencies and community-based organizations that is recognized for its contributions to improving the health and well being of Bronx and Westchester residents.

Mission Statement

The Bronx-Westchester Area Health Education Center (BWAHEC) is committed to improving healthcare access and quality in our communities through the development of collaborations that:

• Increase under-represented minorities in the health care work force;
• Support the retention of healthcare providers;
• Strengthen the skills of healthcare professionals to serve a culturally diverse population.
